Our favorite holiday diffuser hack:
Simply fill up your diffusers with Stress Away and Peppermint every night before bed so you can turn them on first thing in the morning and your home will smell like the North Pole while you enjoy your coffee.

If you are having guests over at any point over the month, make sure to diffuse Bergamot, Nutmeg & Cinnamon when holiday guests arrive & fill your home with the smell of freshly baked goods.

2. Scented Christmas Cards

This might just be my new favorite holiday hack – scented Christmas Cards!! 🥰💌🎄

What you need:

  • Christmas Cards
  • Envelopes
  • A gallon zip lock bag
  • cotton balls or pads
  • Your favorite essential oils! We recommend Christmas Spirit, Joy, Peppermint, Cinnamon Bark, or Orange.

  • Place a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball or pad. Place the cotton ball or pad inside the zip lock bag with the oil facing down (so it doesn’t get the card wet/stained).
  • Add your cards to the ziplock bag and zip closed overnight.
  • Send off your cards! Even the mailman (or lady) will get to experience the goodness 📬

This will instantly create a heartwarming and memorable experience for whoever receives these cards.

3. Scented Gift Wrap

When wrapping presents, you can also add a couple of drops to the bows on your presents. Or you can add some greenery to the present and scent with oils as well!

I’d recommend doing this shortly before giving them out, to ensure they smell as vibrant as possible!

Use Christmas Spirit, Joy, Peppermint, Cinnamon Bark, or Orange.

4. Make a Christmas Room Spray

Here’s how to make a DIY Christmas Spirit Room Spray for all the holiday vibes, every day, in every room 😉:

  1. Add 20 drops Christmas Spirit essential oil to a 2 oz glass spray bottle.
  2. Add a splash of witch hazel or vodka.
  3. Top the bottle off with distilled water.
  4. Shake and spritz in any room that needs a little help.

If you don’t have Christmas Spirit, use a blend of Cinnamon Bark, Orange, and Spruce oils. This also makes for a quick and easy gifts for friends and neighbours (for anyone who will receive their gift before Christmas, as it wouldn’t be as convenient to receive this on Christmas).

5. Fresh Garlands

So you love to fill your house with greenery, right?

For all your garlands, mistletoes, branches and more, spray them with a mist of water + few drops of Idaho Balsam Fir or Northern Lights Black Spruce to keep them fresh or give them an actual scent (if they are fake)!

6. Using Thieves Cleaner

Thieves Cleaner is an all-natural, essential oil based cleaner that can do everything you need it to. It’s all purpose! And it smells sweet and spicy, perfect for the holiday season.

Use it to clean the house just before guests arrive.

And you can make a festive holiday Thieves Cleaner. Simply add a few drops of Christmas Spirit to you bottle of cleaner for that Christmas cleaning power!

7. Peppermint Hot Chocolate or Mocha

Make the most out of this time of year when it’s acceptable to add mint to everything!

But skip the artificial peppermint flavors and add actual peppermint essential oil to your hot chocolate or morning mocha.

Young Living’s Vitality line of essential oils are GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) for consumption, meaning that you can add a drop to your drink and enjoy the natural flavor and many benefits of the essential oil itself.

8. Christmas Gift Ideas With Essential Oils

For all the teachers, babysitters, hairdressers, or family members and friends in your life, make any of the following for an easy and meaningful gift:

Candy Cane Bath Salts

  1. 1 cup Epsom Salts
  2. 1 tbsp baking soda (helps prevent clumping)
  3. 3-4 drops Stress Away
  4. 3-4 drops Peppermint
  5. Add and mix in a glass jar that can seal (such as a mason jar). Tie a bow around it. Write a small note letting them know to use about 1 TBSP per bath. Just drop it under running hot water to disperse.

Christmas Spirit Room Spray

  1. Add 20 drops Christmas Spirit essential oil to a 2 oz glass spray bottle.
  2. Add a splash of witch hazel or vodka.
  3. Top the bottle off with distilled water.
  4. Shake and spritz in any room that needs a little help.

Peppermint Essential Oil

Fill an essential oil sample bottle with some of your peppermint oil and share it. Even if they don’t use essential oils regularly, they can add it to a cotton ball and stick it in their cars air vent, add it to their hot chocolate or coffee, or support digestion after too many Christmas treats by adding it to a glass of drinking water.

9. Holiday Spice Laundry

Of course we want all of our clothing, towels, and bedding to smell like Christmas too, right??

We love using the Thieves Laundry Detergent to clean our laundry. But to truly make your clothes smell like Christmas, it’s all about what happens in the dryer.

Skip the toxic dryer sheets and get all-natural, wool dryer balls. I use 5-6 dryer balls per load in the dryer, an add about 2 drops of essential oil to each dryer ball before starting. This is where the amazing aroma comes from.

For all the holiday smells, use any of these oils on the dryer balls:

  • Christmas Spirit
  • Peppermint
  • Cinnamon Bark
  • Peace & Calming
  • Cardamom and Orange

I might not recommend this if you are using normal detergent. The synthetic fragrance is so strong that it would probably overpower and clash with the dryer balls and essential oils. But if you are using a mild detergent, or Thieves natural detergent, it will work great!

10. Christmas Spirit Soap

And another one of our favorite things is the Christmas Spirit foaming handsoap from Young Living.

It’s their amazing Christmas blend turned into a natural, healthy hand soap. Use it all month long, especially when you have guests over for all the ‘oohs & ahhs’

Bonus Tips For the Craziness of the Holidays

1. Use Stress Away

If you have Stress Away essential oil, or if you plan on getting a Starter Kit (which comes with Stress Away), open that bottle up and add a roller top to it (which also comes with the Starter Kit).

Rub it all over your body (but primarily the back of your neck, bottoms of your feet, and even your chest). The holidays are stressful. Use Stress Away 😉

2. Diffuse Thieves and Lemon to keep everyone uplifted and to support our bodies and immune systems. You can also try Peppermint and Thieves!

3. Support your belly and digestive system when indulging on holiday meals and treats.

Put a drop of DiGize under your tongue or rub some on your belly.

4. Give yourself the gift of great sleep…

Use lavender before bed. Diffuse it, rub it on your neck and feet, and rub it on your pillow and bedding (or make a simple sleep spray).

And of course, enjoy this special time with those that you love. Don’t let the holidays stress you out. It’s meant to be a time of joy and peace. So prioritize that over anything else this year ❤️
