It’s my favorite time of the year! It’s finally cooling down enough to wear my favorite clothes, to go outside without sweating, and to whip up some amazing fall essential oil blends.
When it comes to the fall, there are so many amazing smells to enjoy!
The crisp fall breeze, cinnamon in everything, wet leaves and so much more.
Here are some of my favorite fall diffuser blends to fill your house with the joy and comfort of the season, as well as wonderful fall essential oils in general.
The Best Fall Essential Oil Blends
Use these autumn diffuser blends to create the warmest, coziest house this season. I usually start out with about 9-10 drops in the diffuser, and add more or less once I can smell it in the air.
So if a blend has 3 different oils, try starting with 3 drops of each. If it only has 2 oils, just do 5 drops of each. Then simply increase the amount of the oils if it isn’t strong enough for me, or if the oils aren’t balanced.

Fall Essential Oils
Even though all the blends above are amazing, you don’t need to mix your oils to make the most of the season. Here are some of our favorite fall essential oils to make the season extra special.
Cinnamon
Definitely one of the most loved autumn essential oils, it’s a shame we don’t celebrate cinnamon all year long.
Cinnamon is used in almost everything that makes fall special – from pumpkin spice to apple cider, chai and even sweet potatoes, you can add cinnamon to almost anything in the fall and it will work.
Diffusing or ingesting cinnamon (or cinnamon bark) oil can potentially help support your body by fighting off bacteria and sickness. If applying to the skin, make sure to dilute it with a carrier oil, as this is a ‘hot oil’ and will irritate the skin if used by itself.
Clove
Another beloved fall spice, clove can be used in both sweet and savory recipes. Aside from bringing back warm memories and adding complex flavor to your dessert, clove is a wellness powerhouse.
This oil apparently contains more antioxidants than any other food or oil, making it a powerful addition to your everyday life.
On top of that, this oil is widely praised for its ability to help relieve pain from toothaches. Eugenol (found in clove essential oil) is widely used in dental medicine.
Cedarwood
Cedarwood is a soothing, earthy, outdoors-y aroma that makes you feel like you are taking a walk through the woods. It creates a crisp, fall hike vibe right inside your home.
It’s great for elevating your mood, calming the body and improving focus, due to the amount of Sesquiterpenes it contains, which stimulates the limbic system in the brain.
Add it to shampoo, diffuse while working or make a cologne with it!
Orange
Orange is wonderful in both the Spring and the Fall. We see orange (as a fruit or oil) used used extensively in the fall season.
It can be used to add additional flavor to drinks or desserts. It works well in anything ‘spiced.’ Orange peels are often used in DIY decorations and crafts.
Diffuse orange oil to add a smile to your face, boost your mood and clean the air.
Ginger
Ginger. We love it. But we hate it. But we know we need it in our life. Whether it’s to add flavor to a meal, drink it in tea, or help with our stomachs, we find ourselves using ginger whether we want to or not.
It’s spiced aroma makes it a wonderful addition to your fall stash. Again, you can use it to help with digestive issues, help clear your sinuses, or just create a zesty, spicy vibe in your home.
Rosemary
To me, Rosemary reminds me of Thanksgiving Turkey recipes. I remember when I lived in Maui, Hawaii, where the fall was warm and sunny, just like the summer (and the spring, and the winter).
It was a bright, warm Thanksgiving day and I picked fresh rosemary right from the bush (a lot of it). We used it in our turkey recipe and made 6 turkeys!
It was wild, but I love rosemary because of the memories.
Use rosemary oil to add flavor to any recipe. Some people enjoy diffusing it just by itself, too!
Wish It Lasted Forever
I love the fall with all my heart. I dream about it all year (as so many of us do). I just love ‘cozy.’ The sights, smells, tastes and weather scream COZY in the fall and I wish I could stay there forever.
Whether you live in the midwest where fall is exactly what we think of, or you live in Hawaii where fall means 85, sunny and green (just live every other day of the year), you can enjoy the best aromas autumn has to offer.
But when it ends, you can always pop in one of these fall diffuser recipes to bring the cozy, warm feelings back, even for just a day.
Enjoy the season! And let me know if you have any other favorite fall essential oil blends I should try. Send me a message on Instagram!
