Driving can be stressful. It can be scary.
For a lot of people, driving causes anxiety.
Luckily, there are tons of essential oils that can naturally support a healthy and stable mind. By using a simple car diffuser while you drive, you can create a much more peaceful atmosphere when you are behind the wheel.
And there are many other reasons and times when car diffusers would come in handy as well.
Check out our favorite car diffuser here, or read below to see why you might need one.
What Is A Car Diffuser?
A car oil diffuser is a super simple device that will radically improve your car rides and commutes for the rest of your life. If you understand the benefits of using essential oils on a daily and an hourly basis, getting a car essential oil diffuser is a no brainer.
Basically, it’s made up of 2 main parts. A clip, the attaches to your air vent. And held inside the clip is a felt pad.
Simply add whichever essential oil you would like to “diffuse” to the felt pad, place it inside the vent clip and close it. Then just slide the clip into your air vent, turn your air on, and a beautiful aroma will fill your car pretty quickly.
Like I said, it’s a super simple device. No revolutionary technology here. But you don’t have to worry about bringing an entire diffuser into the car (which you can’t even plug in anyway). You don’t have to hold a bottle of essential oil up to your nose while driving.
Just clip it onto the vent and let it go. And most car diffusers come with with extra felt pads, because they will eventually wear out and not be as effective.
You can also use the extra pads for different oils. For example, if you want to use 1 oil in the morning, but a separate oil in the evening, you can use different felt pads in order to keep the aroma’s from blending together (unless of course you want them to blend together!)
Why We All Need An Essential Oil Car Diffuser
Well, we have all had a stressful drive at some point in our lives, right? Or am I the only one?
Whether it’s commuting to work in the morning, feeling groggy or annoyed or tired and you need a mood and energy boost, or you are sitting in traffic on the way home from work, stressed after a hard day and now stuck on the highway, it’s nice to have an essential oil diffuser for car rides, for whatever mood you are in.
Or if you are on long drive or road trip and need to stay awake and alert, a car essential oil diffuser can help keep you awake and feeling energized. Add some peppermint and you’ll be good to go for a long time!
And of course, if you drive with small kids or babies, you can use oils for them as well. If you want them to sleep, put on some Lavender or some Young Living SleepyIze (be sure you won’t get sleepy though!).
Or you just came from a playdate or school and you want to boost their immune system so they don’t get sick, car essential oil diffusers allow you to keep the wellness support going.
You also might just be anxious or afraid to drive, but don’t know why. Use some oils while you drive to help you feel grounded and confident once again.
The Best Car Essential Oil Diffuser
If you are interested in getting an essential oil diffuser for car rides, you’re in luck, because they are super affordable.
Most car diffusers look and operate the same – an air vent clip that opens up and allows you to put a felt pad inside. The design on the front is usually the differentiating factor.
However, there are a few unique essential oil diffusers for you car as well. Take a look at the best car diffusers.
1- RoyAroma Car Essential Oil Diffuser
The RoyAroma diffuser for car rides is the most popular car diffuser. It’s super affordable on Amazon and comes with 2 diffusers, which you can use in the same car at the same time if you want, or have one in each car.
It comes with 12 felt pads, all different colors. You won’t need to buy any extra pads for a while, but you can buy pads separately. The vent clip is stainless steel, and you can pick between a few different design options.
This diffuser is almost identical to the one listed above. However, the reason I am listing it separately, and the reason I like it, is that this diffuser comes in a black option.
Since I don’t necessarily love the design of these diffusers, I like the black option since it will blend into the car a little better and not stand out so much.
2- Lavore Car Vent Clip Diffuser
This diffuser is sleek and minimal and is the most likely to blend into your car without anyone noticing.
Made up of 3 pieces – the aluminum outer case with the vent clip, the inner tube, and an inner sponge, or wick. this design is quite similar to essential oil inhalers.
Add a few drops of oil to the wick and place inside the vent diffuser. It has a rotating dial that allows you to control the rate at which the oils are diffused. This pack comes with 2 diffuser and 4 wicks.
3- Modern Simplicity Mountain Car Diffuser
This air vent diffuser has more of a minimalistic feel to it, as well as a trendy, simple design. It’s shaped like a simple mountain, and looks and feels clean.
It’s a bit more expensive than the previous diffusers, and it only comes with 1 diffuser clip and 6 felt pads. I like that the pads are only black or white, and not bright colors.
It’s definitely the “cool” diffuser that my husband is a big fan of.
4- Vyaime Car Diffuser
If you prefer the normal function of classic diffuser, that uses water to create mist, this unique essential oils car diffuser might be the one for you. Instead of clipping this onto an air vent, it actually plugs in to your car charger and uses power.
You fill the small water tank (holds 50 ml) up with water, add oil (like you would with a home diffuser), plug it in and drive off into the sunset.
It also has 2 USB ports, allowing you to convert your cigarette lighter into a charging station, whether or now you you are using the diffuser itself.
The ‘stem’ is flexible, allowing you to use this regardless of where your charging port is or what angle it’s at.
If you spend a lot of time in the car, this essential oil diffuser, humidifier and charging station will create the perfect, stress free and healthy environment to help you make the most of your car rides.
5- Young Living Car Diffuser
And if you are a Young Living member, or plan to be one in the near future, they also make a clean, simple air vent diffuser!
The design is minimal, sporting the Young Living droplet logo. It comes with 6 white cotton pads that can be washed and looks great in your car.
If you are a member, this one is great to get at wholesale cost or to include in your Essential Rewards order.
